| Description | Assess and refer for community-based services and intervention clients with mental illness and co-occurring disorders. Works with Jail staff, courts, prosecutors, public defenders, and others to divert persons in the Jail to appropriate community-based treatment. Works with law enforcement to de-escalate crisis situations and arrange for treatment interventions. |
| Qualifications | Master’s degree in clinical social work, clinical psychology or mental health counseling and 1 year experience in mental health (preferably in jail diversion or crisis intervention). Substance abuse background training desirable. » Detailed Job Description « |
| Special Requirements | Licensed as a master social worker, independent social worker, or mental health counselor required. Valid driver's license and insurable under county liability coverage. May require use of personal vehicle for county business. |
