What's New

We have eliminated the old "Intro" page and the "I agree" step as a means of making the site more streamlined and user-friendly. In place of the old Intro page, there is a combination Search/Help page that we hope you will find easy to use. We will refer to this new page as the "Search" page.
A new "Sex Offender" theme has been added, including locations of schools, registered and licensed daycares, as well as a "Restricted Zone" buffer layer around these schools and daycares. For more information on these new layers, please go here.
Some of the Help pages have been changed and a few new ones added. Among these are "Browser Issues", "Contact Us", "Orthophotography", "Printing Instructions" and "Sex Offender Mapping".

The Search Page

The Search page now contains the Help files, as well as a relatively simple search utility which allows you to search for a parcel based on the following criteria: house number, street name, parcel number or any combination of these. When using this, please leave out any prefixes/suffixes on the street name, like South, East, Street, or Road. Alternatively, you can simply click the "Get Map" button without entering anything in any of the search boxes and you will be redirected to the default, full extent map of Johnson County. From there, you can use the navigation tools to locate a parcel or location manually. For help in using the navigation toolbar, please see this.

You will also notice that there is now a "Choose Theme" drop-down box within the Search utility. This allows you to choose which theme you would like to see on the map. The four themes currently available are:

Basic: This theme turns on political and county boundaries and basic parcel lines and polygons. It also activates street centerline info when zoomed-in beyond a certain scale threshold.
Sex Offender: This theme activates the new Sex Offender layers, including the "Sex Offender Restricted Zone". Again, for more info on these layers, please see this.
Voter: Polling sites and voting precincts are turned on in this theme, along with general parcel information and street centerline info.
Aerial Photography 2003: In addition to the same layers you will find in the Basic theme, this theme also activates our 2003 aerial (orthophotography) photos.
