Farmstead Splits:
Subdivision data are fairly recent since the adoption of the Farmstead
Split Ammendment to the Johsnon County Zoning Ordinance in December
of 2000. These data show individual subdivision lots that were separated
from the parent farm parcel. The new ordinance allows only one division
of the parent farm parcel into a lot of less than 40 acres; for this
reason, it is important for the County to track the original parent
farm parcel- this prevents farms from being subdivided more than once
as the ordinance allows.
