Help with Parcels

The Parcels layer has been undergoing significant changes over the past few months. This layer now contains all condominium and bolls (buildings on leased land) parcels. A Parcels TEMP Polygons layer has been added to display parcels recently developed, but not yet incorporated into the Parcel Polygons layer. Four additional layers have been added to the standard and the temp layer to display selected attributes for parcels: Total Value Assessed,  First deed holder, Permanent Parcel Number (PPN), and the parcel site address house number. Users can toggle these layers on and off as need. House Numbers layer is on be default.

Condominiums

Parcels containing condominiums are stored in our database by stacking polygon shapes
that represent the parcel boundary. One condominium may have 10 stacked shapes,
where others may have 50. It is dependant on the number of units within the condo.
The graphic below displays how condominiums are displayed on the screen.

When a user selects the Identify tool, Identify Parcel Icon and clicks on a condominium parcel, multiple
records will be displayed in the TOC (table of contents) on the left side of the map. The user must then scroll down the list of information in order select the specific unit they are searching for.

Buildings on Leased Land

BOLLs are now present in the new Parcels layer. A circle with a 10 foot radius is used
to consistently display BOLLs. The circles are not part of the container parcel (the parcel on which BOLLs reside) but are actually floating on top of the containers. When you use the Identify tool and click on a BOLL, you will typically see 2 records displayed in the TOC. You will need to scroll down past the container parcel record before the BOLL record is visible.

The red dot in the graphic below is a BOLL parcel. The gray shaded area represents the container parcel where the BOLL is present. Cell towers are BOLLs but are coded separately from other BOLLS.

Assessor’s and Treasurer’s Links

The links to the Assessor’s or Treasurer’s websites are contained within the actual record of each identified parcel.
