PROPERTY TAX Property tax is the source of income that most interests those who own or utilize part of Johnson County's 46,000 parcels of property. We will take a closer look at property taxes, increase in taxation for both the general fund, which is levied county wide, and the rural services fund, which provides services to and is levied from non-incorporated areas of the county. As the illustrations below and on the next page indicate, the new budget produces an increase in taxation for both the general fund, which is levied county wide, and the rural services fund, which provides services to and is levied from non-incorporated areas of the county.FY00-FY01 COUNTY DOLLAR CHANGE IN NET CURRENT PROPERTY TAXES
