FY 2002 PROPERTY TAX Property tax is the source of income that most interests those who own or utilize part of Johnson County's 46,000 parcels of property. We will take a closer look at property taxes, the types of funds in which they are collected, and how they relate to the many other resources of the county. As the illustrations below and on the next page indicate, the new budget produces an increase in taxation for both the general fund, which is levied county wide, and the rural services fund, which provides services to and is levied from non-incorporated areas of the county.
