CHANGE IN ROADS AND ENVIRONMENT FY2002

The roads and transportation service area in Johnson County consists of four programs: secondary roads administration and engineering program, roadway maintenance program, general roadway expenditures program, and mass transit program. This service area includes expenditures in the Secondary Roads department.

The county environment service area consists of four programs: environmental quality, conservation and recreation services program, animal control, and county development. This service area includes expenditures in the following county departments: Central Services, Zoning, Block Grants 20 and 23, and Conservation.

Roads and Environment has increased from 6.6 million dollars in actual expenditures in FY00 to 7.5 million dollars in the FY02 proposed budget. As you can see below, Roads is the largest portion of this category.
