Chairperson Stutsman called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:10 a.m.  Members present were: Pat Harney, Mike Lehman, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan.

MINUTES RECEIVED: EAST CENTRAL IOWA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS FOR JANUARY 27, 2005

Minutes were received from the East Central Iowa Council of Governments for January 27, 2005.

REPORTS AND INQUIRIES FROM THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Lehman attended the SEATS Labor Management Committee meeting, the Housing and Community Development Committee meeting, the Johnson County Regional Trails and Bicycle Committee meeting, the Resource and Conservation Development meeting, and the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce meeting.

Neuzil attended the Johnson County Paratransit Advisory Committee meeting, and County-A-Day.  Neuzil will be having a Listening Post on February 25, 2005 at the Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Harney attended the Sixth Judicial District Department of Corrections Board of Directors meeting, the E911 Board of Directors meeting, a Forevergreen Road Study meeting, and an Emergency Management Committee meeting.

R. Sullivan attended County-A-Day.

Stutsman attended County-A-Day.  Stutsman reported that the Chamber Ag Breakfast is on February 25, 2005.  Stutsman said that Johnson County Spring Clean-up has been changed to a year-round clean up.

REPORTS AND INQUIRIES FROM THE PUBLIC

Reverend Bob Welsh reported that on March 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Senior Center there will be an ARP meeting regarding the future of Social Security.  Welsh reported that on March 24, 2005 the Department of Human Services Director will be present at the Senior Center to speak about long term living in Iowa.  Welsh said that he has been working on a Community Assessment Project regarding how to make Johnson County a friendlier place for seniors.  They hope to develop a report to present to local government leaders.
