MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

JANUARY 3, 2006

Chairperson Stutsman called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:00 a.m.  Members present were: Mike Lehman, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan; absent: Pat Harney.

Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken by the following vote: Roll call: aye: Sullivan, Stutsman, Lehman, Neuzil.

Motion by Neuzil, second by Sullivan, to elect Mike Lehman as Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2006.

Motion by Neuzil, second by Sullivan, to elect Pat Harney as Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2006.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Sullivan, to set the weekly Board of Supervisors formal meeting at 9:00 a.m. followed by the informal meeting, except for the second Thursday of the month, the formal meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. followed by the informal meeting.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to appoint Pat Harney to the Sixth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services Board of Directors.

Motion by Sullivan, second by Neuzil, to designate the Iowa City Press-Citizen, Lone Tree Reporter, North Liberty Leader, and Solon Economist as official newspapers of Johnson County.

Motion by Neuzil, second by Stutsman, to appoint Harney to the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.

Adjourned to informal meeting at 9:07 a.m.
