MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

FEBRUARY 16, 2006

Chairperson Lehman called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:01 a.m.  Members present were: Pat Harney, Mike Lehman, Terrence Neuzil, and Rod Sullivan; absent: Sally Stutsman.

Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken by the following vote: Roll call: aye: Harney, Lehman, Neuzil, Sullivan; absent: Stutsman.

Motion by Sullivan, second by Neuzil, to approve the claims on the Auditor’s Claim Register, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Neuzil, second by Harney, to approve the minutes of the formal meetings of February 9, 2006 and February 13, 2006. 

Motion by Harney, second by Sullivan, to approve the payroll authorizations submitted by department heads, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Neuzil, second by Sullivan, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign: a New Application for Class C Liquor License, Application For Outdoor Service Area, and Application For Sunday Sales Privilege for Pleasant Valley Golf Course, Iowa City, as submitted by Arie Kroeze.

Motion by Harney, second by Sullivan, to place on file the Clerk’s Report of Fees Collected for the month of January, 2006, in the amount of $9,489.40, as submitted by Clerk of District Court Lodema Berkley.

RESOLUTION 02-09-06-Z1

Whereas the Johnson County Planning and Zoning Commission, following a public hearing, on February 13, 2006, filed its report and recommendations for certain actions;

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved as follows:

1.  A public hearing in accordance with Section 335.6 of the Iowa Code is set for the 9th day of March, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room, Johnson County Administration Building, 913 South Dubuque Street, Iowa City, Iowa, on the following rezoning applications: 14519 (Grabe), and the following subdivision applications: S05031 (Dovetail Land Acquisitions LLC), 12434 (Linn County Rural Electric Co-op), 14516 (Frederick), and 14517 (Iowa State Bank & Trust for the Eckrich Estate).

2.  That the Johnson County Auditor be authorized to publish the official notice of above public hearing.

Motion by Neuzil, second by Sullivan, to approve Resolution 02-16-06-Z1. 

Recessed at 9:04 a.m.; reconvened at 10:00 a.m.

Motion by Harney, second by Sullivan, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to send a letter to City of Riverside officials regarding Johnson County’s objection to closing Harry’s Road.
