MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

JANUARY 2, 2007

Vice-Chairperson Harney called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:03 a.m.  Members present were: Pat Harney, Larry Meyers, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan.

Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to elect Pat Harney as Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2007 and to elect Rod Sullivan as Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2007.  Roll call: aye: Sullivan, Stutsman, Neuzil, Meyers; abstain: Harney. 

Motion by Stutsman, second by Sullivan, to set the weekly Board of Supervisors formal meeting at 9:00 a.m. followed by the informal meeting, except for the second Thursday of the month, the formal meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. followed by the informal meeting.

Motion by Sullivan, second by Stutsman, to appoint Pat Harney to the Sixth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services Board of Directors. 

Motion by Sullivan, second by Neuzil, to designate the Iowa City Press-Citizen, Lone Tree Reporter, North Liberty Leader, and Solon Economist as official newspapers of Johnson County.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Meyers, to appoint Rod Sullivan to the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.
