MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

JANUARY 2, 2008

 

      Chairperson Harney called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:00 a.m.  Members present were: Pat Harney, Larry Meyers, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan.

 

      Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.

 

      Motion by Stutsman, second by Meyers, to elect Rod Sullivan as Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2008.

 

      Motion by Meyers, second by Sullivan, to elect Terrence Neuzil as Vice Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2008.

 

      Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to set the weekly Board of Supervisors formal meeting at 9:00 a.m. followed by the informal meeting, except for the second Thursday of the month, the formal meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. followed by the informal meeting.

 

      Motion by Neuzil, second by Sullivan, to appoint Pat Harney to the Sixth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services Board of Directors.

 

      Motion by Stutsman, second by Meyers, to designate the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Iowa City Press-Citizen, Lone Tree Reporter, North Liberty Leader, and Solon Economist as official newspapers of Johnson County.

 

      Motion by Sullivan, second by Meyers, to appoint Terrence Neuzil to the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.

 

      Motion by Sullivan, second by Stutsman, to make the following appointments to boards and commissions:

 

Chatham Oaks: Sullivan; Alternates: All Supervisors

City Assessor Conference Board: All Supervisors

County Assessor Conference Board: All Supervisors
