MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

MARCH 27, 2008

      Chairperson Sullivan called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:01 a.m.  Members present were: Pat Harney, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan; absent was Larry Meyers.

      Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken with the following vote: Roll call: aye: Harney, Stutsman, Sullivan, Neuzil; absent: Meyers.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to approve the claims on the Auditor’s Claim Register, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Neuzil, second by Stutsman, to approve the minutes of the formal meeting of March 20, 2008, and revision of the March 11, 2008 formal minutes to correct the scrivener’s error by deleting the phrase “Acquisitions Plats: (6)” from Resolution 03-11-08-Z5. 

Motion by Harney, second by Stutsman, to approve the payroll authorizations submitted by department heads, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

      Convened Public Hearing on Road Vacation on Sand Road SE north of Nursery Lane SE in East Lucas Township at 9:04 a.m.

      County Engineer Greg Parker presented the proposed road vacation on Sand Road SE north of Nursery Land SE in East Lucas Township. 

      Tom Anthony of Landmark Consultants spoke in favor of the road vacation.

Public Hearing closed at 9:13 a.m.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign the renewal Funding Agreement between Johnson County, Iowa and the Johnson County Agricultural Association for the period July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009 for $93,765.00.

Motion by Neuzil, second by Stutsman, to appoint Lynn Snyder, Dianne Wass and Jaron Varner to the Johnson County Juvenile Justice Youth Development Program for terms ending September 30, 2008.

      Adjourned to informal meeting at 9:15 a.m.
