MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:
OCTOBER 23, 2008
Chairperson Sullivan called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:00 a.m. Members present were: Pat Harney, Larry Meyers, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan.
Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Meyers, to approve the claims on the Auditor’s Claim Register, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.
Motion by Neuzil, second by Stutsman, to approve the minutes of the formal meeting of October 16, 2008.
Motion by Harney, second by Meyers, to approve the payroll authorizations submitted by department heads, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Meyers, to accept the County Auditor’s Quarterly Report of Fees Collected for the quarter ending September 30, 2008, in the amount of $3,120.64, as submitted by County Auditor Tom Slockett.
Motion by Meyers, second by Stutsman, to place on file the Clerk’s Report of Fees Collected for the month of September, 2008, in the amount of $200,250.62, as submitted by Clerk of District Court Lodema Berkley.
Reconvened October 19, 2008, Public Hearing on Platting Application Subdivision Application 15222 at 9:03 a.m.
Subdivision Application 15222 of Ellen Coan requesting preliminary and final plat approval of Ellensborough Addition, a subdivision described as being located in the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 28, Township 78 North, Range 5 West of the 5th P.M. in Johnson County, Iowa (This is a 1 lot, 2.26 acre, farmstead split located on the south side of 540th Street SE approximately 2,000 feet east of its intersection with Utah Avenue SE in Lincoln Twp.).
Planning and Zoning Assistant Planner Josh Busard said the applicant has not submitted an amended plat, however they have submitted a variance application. Busard recommended the applicant ask for a deferral. Assistant Planning and Zoning Administrator R.J. Moore said they are willing to let the applicant withdraw and submit an amended plat.
MMS Consultants Representative Sandra Steil said they are planning to defer the plat application for 30 days with future intent to withdraw and apply for an amended plat.
Motion by Neuzil, second by Harney, to defer Subdivision Application 15222 for 30 days.
Public Hearing closed at 9:08 a.m.
Motion by Harney, second by Stutsman, to approve the Request for Proposals document to solicit candidates to provide part-time services as a Johnson County Criminal Justice Coordinator.
Adjourned to informal meeting at 9:10 a.m.
