District Representative David Leshtz said as a former County employee himself, it is an honor to read this brief letter from Congressman Loebsack: "Dear Betty, I am pleased to have the opportunity to thank you for your dedicated service to our community. Your commitment as a public servant for the people of Johnson County for the past 55 years is truly remarkable. Starting right after high school graduation, working for four different Treasurers, serving as Deputy Treasurer for over 40 years, and still going strong is perhaps an unparalleled record in county government. I am told that Betty Sass is the person to ask if you want to know anything about how Johnson County functions! It is an honor to recognize someone who has dedicated her career, indeed her entire life, to the well-being of our community. Once again, on behalf of the people of my district, thank you and congratulations. I wish you all the best in the future. Sincerely Dave Loebsack, Member of Congress."
Sass said it is an honor to work for the County and that she has had very good bosses. There are not any of them she did not like. Sass said it's a pleasure to be able to work at her age and have a half-way decent mind. She said that Johnson County is not a bad place to work. She thanked the Board.
