MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

DECEMBER 23, 2008

      Chairperson Sullivan called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:00 a.m.  Members present were: Pat Harney, Larry Meyers, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan.

      Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Meyers, to approve the claims on the Auditor’s Claim Register, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Meyers, second by Neuzil, to approve the minutes of the formal meeting of December 18, 2008. 

Motion by Harney, second by Stutsman, to approve the payroll authorizations submitted by department heads, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Meyers, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign the 28E Project Agreement between the Iowa Department of Transportation and Johnson County to allow the IDOT to purchase Right-of-Way for road relocations or reconstruction for IDOT Project (s) STPN-1-5(85)—2J-52/HES-1-5(78)—2H-52 (Highway #1 from Iowa City to Solon).

Motion by Meyers, second by Neuzil, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign the 2008 Weed Commissioner’s Annual Report.

Motion by Harney, second by Stutsman, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign the subcontract with Linn County Community Services for $12,500 to support a Wraparound Fund to provide financial assistance to help cover activities, transportation, and counseling for children and youth with a serious mental health challenge. 

Motion by Neuzil, second by Stutsman, to appoint Mary Weimann to the Livable Community for Successful Aging Policy Board for a term ending June 30, 2011. 

Motion by Meyers, second by Stutsman approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign an Application for Fireworks Permit for Stumptown Shooters/Mark Woodburn, 122 N Market Street, Solon, for display at 6090 River Junction Road SE, Lone Tree, on December 31, 2008, and January 1, 2009.
