MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:
JANUARY 2, 2009
Chairperson Sullivan called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:00 a.m. Members present were: Pat Harney, Larry Meyers, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan.
Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to elect Terrence Neuzil as Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2009.
Motion by Sullivan, second by Stutsman, to elect Larry Meyers as Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2009.
Motion by Harney, second by Stutsman, to set the weekly Board of Supervisors formal meeting on Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. followed by the informal meeting, except for the second Thursday of the month, the formal meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. followed by the informal meeting.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Sullivan, to appoint Pat Harney to the Sixth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services Board of Directors. Roll call: aye: Stutsman, Neuzil, Sullivan, Meyers; abstain: Harney.
Motion by Sullivan, second by Meyers, to designate the Iowa City Press-Citizen, Lone Tree Reporter, North Liberty Leader, and Solon Economist as official newspapers of Johnson County.
Motion by Sullivan, second by Stutsman, to appoint Larry Meyers to the Board of Directors of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Meyers, to make the following appointments to boards and commissions:
