Chairperson Neuzil called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the former Johnson County Public Health Department Building at 9:16 a.m. Members present were: Pat Harney, Larry Meyers, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Meyers, to enter into Executive Session at 9:27 a.m. to interview a candidate who wished to remain confidential under section 21.5(1.i), Code of Iowa, “to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session.” Roll call: aye: Harney, Stutsman, Neuzil, Sullivan, Meyers.
Motion by Meyers, second by Sullivan, to leave Executive Session at 10:24 a.m. Roll call: aye: Harney, Stutsman, Neuzil, Sullivan, Meyers.
Motion by Harney, second by Meyers, to enter into Executive Session at 10:24 a.m. to interview a candidate who wished to remain confidential under section 21.5(1.i), Code of Iowa, “to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session.” Roll call: aye: Harney, Stutsman, Neuzil, Sullivan, Meyers.

Motion by Sullivan, second by Harney, to leave Executive Session at 3:29 p.m. Roll call: aye: Harney, Stutsman, Neuzil, Sullivan, Meyers.
Neuzil said on March 13, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. the Board will meet again for a second day of interviews with a new agenda. He said they will go until 11:30 a.m. and then the Board will recess. At 1:30 p.m., the Board will meet in the Board Room at the Administration Building for the phone interview. Neuzil said the Board will then return to the former Public Health Building to complete the last interview. Neuzil asked when the Board will meet again. He said they need about 20 minutes to pare down the list of candidates to three or four for a final interview. Meyers asked if there will be another set of questions. Lora asked if the Board would will stay on March 13, 2009 until noon to discuss the candidates.
