Chairperson Neuzil called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 6:33 p.m. Members present were: Larry Meyers, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan. Members absent were: Pat Harney.
County Attorney Janet Lyness said next week four judges from France will be visiting. She will show them the court system in Iowa by giving them a tour of the Jail and IMCC. They will also have the opportunity to watch jury trials and meet judges and attorneys. Lyness reminded the Board about the National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) walk on May 2, 2009. The Johnson County Attorney's Office has a team in addition to the Johnson County team. She encouraged people to sign up on either team and to get pledges.
Stutsman attended a liaison meeting with Information Services Director Jean Schultz and a Health and Human Services Open House Committee meeting. She said the open house is scheduled for April 18, 2009 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Congressmen Dave Loebsack is expected to attend.
Sullivan said that any issues related to the Johnson County Land Fill should be directed to him. He said the group working with the University of Iowa Hydrology Lab is presenting their flood model April 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Capitol Mall in Iowa City. He attended a Parking Committee subcommittee meeting. He said Johnson County is scheduled host the Joint Cities Meeting on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.
Neuzil attended a liaison meeting with Information Services Director Jean Schultz and the UNESCO reception at the Englert Theater. He said the Crisis Center annual breakfast is at Parkview Church on May 2, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.
Neuzil said a Board of Supervisors Department Head meeting is scheduled for April 14, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. On Wednesday April 15, 2009 there is a scheduled Work Session meeting to discuss conditional use permits at 9:00 a.m. The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to hold a Joint Meeting with the Conservation Board at Kent Park on April 15, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. The Board is scheduled to have their Board Meeting on April 16, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.
