      Chairperson Neuzil called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Health and Human Services Building at 9:09 a.m.  Members present were: Pat Harney, Terrence Neuzil, Janelle Rettig, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan.

 

Reports and Inquiries from Executive Assistant Andy Johnson

 

      Executive Assistant Andy Johnson said the Board has a tour of road projects at 1:00 p.m. today, and the Iowa State Association of Counties meeting on November 18 - 20, 2009 at the Coralville Marriot Hotel.  Due to Thanksgiving, the next Board meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, November 24, 2009.  A Key Issues meeting is scheduled on November 25, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.

 

Reports and Inquiries from the Board of Supervisors

 

      Stutsman said she has heard from the public that the Public Health Department has done a great job scheduling clinics to deal with the H1N1 virus in a very professional and efficient manner.

 

      Harney said he has been in contact with many residents who have concerns about issues throughout the County.  He had a liaison meeting with Human Resources Administrator Lora Shramek.

 

      Sullivan had a liaison meeting with Johnson.  Sullivan thanked Johnson for his work on the Iowa City Landfill issue.  He said the East Central Iowa Council of Governments Legislative Forum will be held today.  Sullivan reported that he has been appointed to a committee to evaluate the services of the Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center.

 

      Rettig complimented the students of North Central Junior High for their participation in their classes where discussion was held with local elected officials and legislators.  Rettig toured the Ambulance Department.

 

      Neuzil said his next Listening Post is scheduled for November 24, 2009 at the Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center at 12:00 p.m.  Neuzil said that he looks forward to attending ISAC in Coralville.
