MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

NOVEMBER 24, 2009

      Chairperson Neuzil called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Health and Human Services Building at 9:00 a.m.  Members present were: Pat Harney, Terrence Neuzil, Janelle Rettig, and Rod Sullivan; absent: Sally Stutsman.

      Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken by the following vote: Roll call: aye: Harney, Neuzil, Sullivan, Rettig; absent: Stutsman.

Motion by Sullivan, second by Rettig, to approve the claims on the Auditor’s Claim Register, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Sullivan, second by Rettig, to approve the minutes of the formal meeting of November 17, 2009. 

Motion by Harney, second by Rettig, to approve the payroll authorizations submitted by department heads, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Sullivan, second by Rettig, to accept the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 183 collective bargaining proposals for 2010-2011 with Johnson County for the Ambulance Unit.

Motion by Rettig, second by Harney, to accept the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 183 collective bargaining proposals for 2010-2011 with Johnson County for the SEATS Unit.

Motion by Harney, second by Sullivan, to accept the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 183 collective bargaining proposals for 2010-2011 with Johnson County for the Social Services Mental Health/Disability Services Unit. 

Motion by Sullivan, second by Harney, to approve and authorize Andy Johnson, as authorized representative, to sign a contract with Hart-Frederick Consultants in an amount not to exceed $1,000 for the purpose of providing a mortgage survey and boundary line adjustment as part of Johnson County’s buyout of flooded property acquisition program.

Motion by Rettig, second by Sullivan, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign a letter of agreement with the Eastern Iowa Tourism Association for the purpose of receiving a $1,000 grant to support the creation of a brochure about historical sites in Johnson County.
