MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

JANUARY 4, 2010

      Chairperson Neuzil called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Health and Human Services Building at 9:00 a.m.  Members present were: Pat Harney, Terrence Neuzil, Janelle Rettig, Sally Stutsman, and Rod Sullivan.

      Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.

Motion by Sullivan, second by Rettig, elect Sally Stutsman to serve as Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors and Pat Harney to serve as Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2010.

Motion by Harney, second by Neuzil, to set the weekly Board of Supervisors Formal Meeting on Thursdays at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Informal Meeting, except for the second Thursday of the month, when the Formal Meeting will be at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Informal Meeting.

Motion by Neuzil, second by Sullivan, to appoint Pat Harney to the Sixth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services Board of Directors.  Roll call: aye: Neuzil, Sullivan, Rettig, Stutsman; abstain: Harney.

Motion by Sullivan, second by Neuzil, to designate the Iowa City Press-Citizen, North Liberty Leader, Solon Economist, and The Lone Tree Reporter as official newspapers of Johnson County.

      Motion by Sullivan, second by Rettig, to appoint Pat Harney to the Board of Directors of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.  Roll call: aye: Rettig, Stutsman, Neuzil, Sullivan; abstain: Harney.

      Adjourned to informal meeting at 9:10 a.m.
