MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

JANUARY 11, 2001

Chairperson Lehman called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 5:30 p.m. Members present were: Pat Harney, Mike Lehman, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Carol Thompson.

Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to approve the claims on the Auditor’s Claim Register, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Thompson, second by Neuzil, to approve the minutes of the formal meeting of January 4, 2001.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to approve the payroll authorizations submitted by department heads, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign a Renewal Application for Class C Liquor License, and Application For Sunday Sales Privilege for Rocks Roadhouse, Iowa City, as submitted by Mark Mitchell and Ricky Jirsa.

Motion by Thompson, second by Stutsman, to place on file the Clerk’s Report of Fees Collected for the month of December, 2000, in the amount of $6,233.10, as submitted by Clerk of District Court Lodema Berkley.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Thompson, to appoint Bob Saunders to the Johnson County/Iowa City Airport Commission for an unexpired term ending December 31, 2003.

RESOLUTION 01-11-01-Z1

Whereas the Johnson County Planning and Zoning Commission, following a public hearing, on January 8, 2001, filed its report and recommendations for certain actions;

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved as follows:

1. A public hearing in accordance with Section 335.6 of the Iowa Code is set for the 30th day of January, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. in the Board Room, Johnson County Administration Building, 913 South Dubuque Street, Iowa City, Iowa, on the following: Z00034, S00044.

2. A public hearing in accordance with Section 335.6 of the Iowa Code is set for the 8th day of February, 2001, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room, Johnson County Administration Building, 913 South Dubuque Street, Iowa City, Iowa, on the following: CU00003, Z00034, Z00035, Z00036, Z00037, S9120A, S99049, S00038, S00044, S00045, S00047.

3. That the Johnson County Auditor be authorized to publish the official notice of the above public hearing.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to approve Resolution 01-11-01-Z1.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Thompson, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to send a letter to Cluster/Social Welfare Board requesting the recommendation of an Ex-Officio member to the Johnson County MH/DD Planning Council.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to re-appoint Mike Gardner to the East Central Iowa Council of Governments ISTEA Technical Advisory Committee for a term ending January 1, 2002.
