Chairperson Lehman called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:03 a.m. Members present were: Pat Harney, Mike Lehman, Sally Stutsman, Carol Thompson and Terrence Neuzil by telephone.

Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to approve the claims on the Auditor’s Claim Register, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Thompson, to approve the minutes of the formal meeting of January 11, 2001.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Thompson, to approve the payroll authorizations submitted by department heads, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Thompson, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign the contract with Apex Construction Company, Inc. for the Johnson County Courthouse restroom remodeling project for $134,100.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Thompson, to send Terrence Neuzil to the Iowa City Chamber Legislative meetings in Washington, D.C. on February 25, 26, and 27, 2001 not to exceed $1,500.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Thompson, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign an Application For Fireworks Permit for Jim M. Rammelsberg, 1892 Amana Rd. NW, Swisher, on July 4-7 weather permitting, 2001.

Recessed at 9:25 a.m.; reconvened at 10:30 a.m.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Thompson, to have Board of Supervisors Administrative Assistant Carol Peters process claims and payroll authorizations for the Facilities Department and have Supervisor Lehman sign off on them.
