MINUTES OF THE CANVASS OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

FEBRUARY 27, 2001

Chairperson Lehman called to order the Johnson County Board of Supervisors at 10:05 a.m. to act as a canvass board to certify the results of the Special North Liberty City Election of February 20, 2001. Members present were: Pat Harney, Mike Lehman, Sally Stutsman, and Carol Thompson; absent: Terrence Neuzil.

ABSTRACT OF VOTES

FOR THE OFFICE OF Mayor of North Liberty there were three hundred twenty-six (326) votes cast as follows: Bill Dorst received one hundred thirty-nine (139) votes, Clair Mekota received one hundred eighty-two (182) votes, and Scattered votes were five (5).

We therefore declare Clair Mekota duly elected to the office of Mayor of North Liberty for the remaining 10 months of a vacated term.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Thompson,to approve the results of the Special North Liberty City Election of February 20, 2001. Roll call: aye: Stutsman, Lehman, Thompson, Harney; absent: Neuzil.
