Chairperson Lehman called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:09 a.m. Members present were: Pat Harney, Mike Lehman, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Carol Thompson.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to enter into Executive Session at 9:09 a.m. for an annual evaluation of Mental Health Developmental Disabilities Director Elaine Sweet under section 21.5(1.i), Code of Iowa, "to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session." Roll call: aye: Neuzil, Stutsman, Lehman, Thompson, Harney.

Department of Human Services Area Administrator Cheryl Whitney gave the Board of Supervisors a tour of the Human Services Building located at 911 N. Governor Street. Next, Whitney explained the organizational staff structure of the Department of Human Services. Whitney and the Board discussed at length the duties of the Human Services Department. They also talked about the organizational structure of Human Services and MH/DD. The Board expressed their wish that there would be more collaboration between the Department of Human Services and MH/DD. Last, they discussed space needs of both departments.
