MINUTES OF THE CANVASS OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:
SEPTEMBER 14, 2001
Vice-Chairperson Thompson called to order the Johnson County Board of Supervisors at 1:00 p.m. to act as a canvass board to certify the results of the School Board Election of September 11, 2001. Members present were: Pat Harney, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Carol Thompson; absent: Mike Lehman.
ABSTRACT OF VOTES
FOR THE OFFICE OF Clear Creek Amana Community School Board of Directors District 1 (ONE to be elected) there were three hundred seventy-four (374) votes cast as follows:
Dixie Trout received three hundred seventy-one (371) votes and Scattering received three (3) votes.
We therefore declare Dixie Trout duly elected to the office of School Board Director District 1, for the term of 3 years.
FOR THE OFFICE OF Clear Creek Amana Community School Board of Directors At Large (ONE to be elected) there were four hundred sixty-five (465) votes cast as follows:
Kathi Huebner received two hundred eighty-six (286) votes, Tom Seelman received one hundred seventy-eight (178) votes, and Scattering received one (1) vote.
We therefore declare Kathi Huebner duly elected to the office of School Board Director At Large, for the term of 3 years.
FOR THE OFFICE OF Iowa City Community School Board of Directors (TWO to be elected) there were three thousand six hundred fifty-six (3,656) votes cast as follows:
David W. Franker received one thousand four hundred fifty-five (1,455) votes, Matthew Goodlaxson received one thousand two hundred fifty-one (1,251) votes, Deb Kephart received nine hundred thirty-eight (938) votes, and Scattering received twelve (12) votes.
We therefore declare David W. Franker and Matthew Goodlaxson duly elected to the offices of School Board of Directors, for the term of 3 years.
FOR THE OFFICE OF Kirkwood Community College, Merged Area X School Board of Directors District 2 (ONE to be elected) there were six hundred seventy-six (676) votes cast as follows:
Robert A. Davidson received six hundred sixty-nine (669) votes and Scattering received seven (7) votes.
FOR THE OFFICE OF Kirkwood Community College, Merged Area X School Board of Directors District 3 (ONE to be elected) there were four hundred forty-two (442) votes cast as follows:
Lois A. Bartelme received four hundred thirty-four (434) votes and Scattering received eight (8) votes.
FOR THE OFFICE OF Lone Tree Community School Board of Directors (TWO to be elected) there were nine hundred thirty-seven (937) votes cast as follows:
Jon R. Ronan received four hundred eighty-three (483) votes, James E. Sladek received four hundred twenty-four (424) votes, and Scattering received three (3) votes.
We therefore declare Jon R. Ronan and James E. Sladek duly elected to the offices of School Board of Directors, for the term of 3 years.
Upon the public measure (A)
Shall the Lone Tree Community School District, State of Iowa, issue bonds in an amount not exceeding $3,800,000 for the purpose of constructing an addition to the District’s school building, including a cafeteria, library and three classrooms; installing new windows in the building; and resurfacing the athletic track?
there were five hundred eighty-four (584) votes cast, as follows:
FOR the question there were three hundred eighty (380) votes cast.
AGAINST the question there were two hundred four (204) votes cast.
We therefore declare the public measure (A)

FOR THE OFFICE OF Solon Community School Board of Directors (TWO to be elected) there were six hundred sixty-two (662) votes cast as follows:
Joel C. Miller received two hundred forty (240) votes, Pat Smith received one hundred fifty-four (154) votes, Robert P. Upmeyer received two hundred sixty-one (261) votes, and Scattering received seven (7) votes.
We therefore declare Joel C. Miller and Robert P. Upmeyer duly elected to the offices of School Board of Directors, for the term of 3 years.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to approve the results of the School Board Election of September 11, 2001. Roll call: aye: Neuzil, Stutsman, Thompson, Harney; absent: Lehman.
