Chairperson Lehman called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:00 a.m. Members present were: Pat Harney, Mike Lehman, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Carol Thompson.

Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to elect Carol Thompson as Chairperson for a term ending December 31, 2002.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Lehman, to elect Pat Harney as Vice-Chairperson of the Board Of Supervisors for a term ending December 31, 2002.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to set the weekly Board of Supervisors formal meeting at 9:00 a.m. followed by the informal meeting, except for the second Thursday of the month, the formal meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. followed by the informal meeting.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Lehman, to appoint Pat Harney to the Sixth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services Board of Directors.

Motion by Harney, second by Neuzil, to designate the Iowa City Press-Citizen, Lone Tree Reporter, North Liberty Leader, and Solon Economist as official newspapers of Johnson County.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to appoint Pat Harney to the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Neuzil, to appoint various Board members to lead the following Strategic Planning Goals: Technology-Terrence Neuzil and Carol Thompson; Fiscal Management and Planning-Sally Stutsman and Mike Lehman; Facilities Planning-Pat Harney and Mike Lehman; Transportation Planning-Sally Stutsman and Pat Harney; Human Services-Mike Lehman and Sally Stutsman; and Economic Development-Carol Thompson and Terrence Neuzil.
