MINUTES OF THE FORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:
JANUARY 17, 2002
Chairperson Thompson called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 9:00 a.m. Members present were: Pat Harney, Mike Lehman, Terrence Neuzil, Sally Stutsman, and Carol Thompson.
Unless otherwise noted, all actions were taken unanimously.
Motion by Lehman, second by Harney, to approve the claims on the Auditor’s Claim Register, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.
Motion by Neuzil, second by Stutsman, to approve the minutes of the formal meeting of January 10, 2002.
Motion by Lehman, second by Stutsman, to approve the payroll authorizations submitted by department heads, as approved by a majority of the Supervisors.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Lehman, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign: a Renewal Application for Class C Liquor License, Application For Outdoor Service Area, and Application For Sunday Sales Privilege for Rock's Roadhouse, Iowa City, as submitted by Mark Mitchell and Ricky Jirsa.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Lehman, to approve the revised SEATS Rider’s Guide for Johnson County as submitted by the SEATS Advisory Committee.
RESOLUTION 01-17-02-Z1
Whereas, the Johnson County Planning and Zoning Commission, following a public hearing, on January 14, 2002, filed its report and recommendations for certain actions;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved as follows:
1. A public hearing in accordance with Section 335.6 of the Iowa Code is set for the 14th day of February, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room, Johnson County Administration Building, 913 South Dubuque Street, Iowa City, Iowa, on the following: Z01015 (Koss), Z01017 (McCue), S01028A (Vondracek), S01032 (Kinney), S01042A (Miller/Yoder), S01047 (Stutzman), and S01048 (Beckler).
2. That an amendment to the Johnson County Zoning Ordinance amending Chapter 8:1.6.A1 District Use Regulations by adding 8:1.6.c.1.B.
3. That an amendment to the Johnson County Zoning Ordinance amending Chapter 8:1.22.V.10 Road Performance Standards.
4. That the Johnson County Auditor be authorized to publish the official notice of the above public hearing.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to approve Resolution 01-17-02-Z1.
Motion by Harney, second by Stutsman, to approve the Family Farm Tax Credit Applications for 2001 as recommended by County Assessor William Greazel.
RESOLUTION 01-17-02-01
Whereas, the Heritage Agency on Aging has terminated its funding contract with Johnson County for the Senior Dining program which the county has administered at the Johnson County-Iowa City Senior Center, and
Whereas, Heritage has chosen Elder Services, Inc. as the successor contractor for Senior Dining; and
Whereas, Senior Dining program continuity and the program clients will be best served if the Senior Center is able to take possession of and utilize existing program kitchen equipment;
Now, Therefore be it Resolved that all kitchen equipment listed on a December 26, 2001, inventory is hereby donated to the Senior Center for use by Elder Services, Inc. and its successors, for continued operation of the Senior Dining Program.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Harney, to approve Resolution 01-17-02-01.
Motion by Stutsman, second by Lehman, to approve and authorize the Chairperson to sign the contract award for State Reimbursement to Counties for Substance Abuse Funding Fiscal Year 2002-2003 in the amount of $10,000.00.
