Chairperson Harney called to order the Johnson County Board of Supervisors at 9:00 a.m. to act as a canvass board to certify the results of the Special Iowa City School Election of February 11, 2003. Members present were: Pat Harney, Mike Lehman, Terrence Neuzil, and Sally Stutsman; absent: Carol Thompson.

Upon the public measure (A)

Shall the Board of Directors of the Iowa City Community School District, in the County of Johnson, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $39,000,000 in order to qualify for an Iowa Demonstration Construction Grant and to provide funds to build and furnish an alternative high school building, a junior high school building, and an elementary school building, build additions to, improve, remodel, furnish and repair school buildings, and to improve and acquire sites?

there were twelve thousand four hundred eighty (12,480) votes cast, as follows:

FOR the question, there were eight thousand eight hundred eighty-five (8,885) votes cast.

AGAINST the question, three thousand five hundred ninety-two (3,592) votes cast.

We therefore declare the public measure (A)
