MINUTES OF THE INFORMAL MEETING OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

DECEMBER 11, 1997

Chairperson Stutsman called the Johnson County Board of Supervisors to order in the Johnson County Administration Building at 1:42 p.m. Members present were: Joseph Bolkcom, Jonathan Jordahl, and Sally Stutsman; Stephen Lacina arrived at 1:44 p.m.; Charles Duffy was absent until the meeting reconvened at 2:27 p.m.

BILL MOSSMAN: INTERVIEW FOR SEATS DIRECTOR POSITION

Motion by Bolkcom, second by Jordahl, to enter into Executive Session at 1:42 p.m. to interview Bill Mossman under section 21.5(1.i), Code of Iowa, "to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual's reputation and that individual requests a closed session." Roll call: aye: Bolkcom, Jordahl, Stutsman; absent: Lacina, Duffy.

Motion by Bolkcom, second by Jordahl, to leave Executive Session at 2:15 p.m. Roll call: aye: Bolkcom, Jordahl, Stutsman, Lacina; absent: Duffy.

Recessed at 2:15 p.m.; reconvened at 2:27 p.m. with Duffy present.

BURNELL CHADEK: INTERVIEW FOR SEATS DIRECTOR POSITION

Motion by Lacina, second by Duffy, to enter into Executive Session at 2:27 p.m. to interview Burnell Chadek under section 21.5(1.i), Code of Iowa, "to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual's reputation and that individual requests a closed session." Roll call: aye: Bolkcom, Jordahl, Stutsman, Lacina, Duffy.

Motion by Lacina, second by Bolkcom, to leave Executive Session at 2:58 p.m. Roll call: aye: Bolkcom, Jordahl, Stutsman, Lacina, Duffy.

Recessed at 3:00 p.m.; reconvened at 3:10 p.m.

EXECUTIVE SESSION: DISCUSSION OF CANDIDATES FOR THE HUMAN RESOURCE DIRECTOR POSITION

Motion by Lacina, second by Duffy, to enter into Executive Session at 3:10 p.m. to discuss candidates for the Human Resource Director Position who requested an executive session under section 21.5(1.i), Code of Iowa, "to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual's reputation and that individual requests a closed session." Roll call: aye: Bolkcom, Jordahl, Stutsman, Lacina, Duffy.

Motion by Lacina, second by Bolkcom, to leave Executive Session at 4:30 p.m. Roll call: aye: Bolkcom, Jordahl, Stutsman, Lacina, Duffy.
