MINUTES OF THE CANVASS OF THE JOHNSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS:

APRIL 7, 1998

Chairperson Bolkcom called to order the Johnson County Board of Supervisors at 9:02 a.m. to act as a canvass board to certify the results of the North Liberty Special Election of March 31, 1998. Members present were: Joseph Bolkcom, Charles Duffy, Jonathan Jordahl, Stephen Lacina, and Sally Stutsman.

FOR THE OFFICE OF North Liberty City Council Member -To Fill a Vacancy (ONE to be elected) there were two hundred ninety-five (295) votes cast as follows:

Angela Boeke received one hundred fifty-nine (159) votes, Matthew R. Ellis received twenty-eight (28) votes, Sally O'Rear received thirteen (13) votes, Donald J. Pfeiffer received fifteen (15) votes David J. Roberts received seventy-nine (79) votes and there was one (1) Scattered vote.

We therefore declare Angela Boeke duly elected to the office of Council Member, for the remaining 21 month vacant term.

Motion by Lacina second by Stutsman, to approve the results of the North Liberty Special Election of March 31, 1998. Roll call: aye: Jordahl, Stutsman, Bolkcom, Lacina, Duffy.
