REPORT (VIDEOGRAPHER ANDY SMALL): INTRODUCTION OF NEW VIDEO CENTER EMPLOYEE
Bolkcom: OK, we're going to go now to reports and inquiries from members of the public. Anybody want to address the Board?
Videographer Andy Small: That's Josh Goding over there. He's the new video center part-time employee. He's trying to spice up these meetings a little bit.
Bolkcom: Get him on camera. Look busy, Josh.
Small: It should look a little more...
Bolkcom: Great. Glad to have you here.
Small: ...form versus content...
Bolkcom: Hey, the content is always (inaudible). OK, no reports or inquiries from the public. Can we get a motion to go into executive session?
Stutsman: I move we go into executive session for the purposes of discussing collective bargaining grievance for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
Jordahl: Second.
White: Just a question about logistics, are you not going to come back to reports and inquiries from the members of the Board.
Bolkcom: That's what I would say.
Stutsman: I agree.
White: There's only one person present and know that she does not need to wait around.
Bolkcom: Thank you Pat. I think we're going to dispense with reports tonight if that's OK with the Board.
Stutsman: That's fine with me.
Jordahl: Yes. If you have something that needs reporting I'd be happy to hear it.
REPORT (DUFFY): ATTENDED VETERANS DAY RECOGNITION BANQUET
Duffy: Well I got one. I went to the Veterans Day Recognition Banquet last night at the Radisson Hotel and Highlander Plaza. That's sponsored by the military. The Will J. Heicke went to our fellow Supervisor Bob Burns. It was well attended. I think it was estimated something like 275 people there and gave them a standing ovation. It's a little too late to say why he got this award but it was just great and I was glad to see that. Everybody was happy. Governor Terry Branstad was there. He was the guest speaker and did a real good job. There were awards for high school awards recipients that their grade average has something to do with this and what they were going to do after they graduate from high school. So I would like to read very fast here some of these: Clear Creek Amana, Anna Berlin, Ella Lynn Stemmel, Iowa City City High, Iowa City Regina Patrick Rossman, Iowa City West High, Jeannie L. Balmer, Lonetree Community, Michael J. Lively, and Solon Wendy Owen. If it wasn't for veterans we wouldn't have to worry about things like we've been doing tonight because we wouldn't be here. So I plan on attending next year too. I don't miss that.
Bolkcom: All right thanks Charlie. Do we have a motion.
Stutsman: Yes.
