Chairperson Jordahl called to order the Johnson County Board of Supervisors at 1:05 p.m. to act as a canvass board to certify the results of the Iowa City Council Primary Election of October 5, 1999. Members present were: Jonathan Jordahl, Mike Lehman, and Sally Stutsman; absent: Charles Duffy and Carol Thompson.

FOR THE OFFICE OF Iowa City Council Member District A (TWO to be nominated) there were seven hundred thirty (730) votes cast as follows:

Anna Buss received one hundred fifty-four (154) votes, Jerry Hansen received two hundred forty-two (242) votes, Ross Wilburn received three hundred thirty-three (333) votes, and Scattering received one (1) vote; and Jerry Hansen and Ross Wilburn were nominated.

FOR THE OFFICE OF Iowa City Council Member At-Large (FOUR to be nominated) there were four thousand fifty-five (4,055) votes cast as follows:

Tim Borchardt received five hundred thirteen (513) votes, Steven Kanner received eight hundred twenty-nine (829) votes, Charles A. Major received eight hundred sixty-nine (869) votes, Rick E. Spooner received three hundred ninety-eight (398) votes, Dee Vanderhoef received one thousand three hundred ninety (1,390) votes, and Scattering received fifty-six (56) votes; and Tim Borchardt, Steven Kanner, Charles A. Major and Dee Vanderhoef were nominated.

Motion by Stutsman, second by Lehman, to approve the results of the Iowa City Council Primary Election of October 5, 1999. Roll call: aye: Lehman, Stutsman, Jordahl; absent: Thompson, Duffy.
