Statewide
judicial retention list (Iowa Secretary of State, .pdf)
About this
list
This list includes all candidates and issues
qualified for the ballot and no other
candidates.
The filing period for the November
2 general election for candidates not representing the two official
parties was July 26-August 13 for presidential, congressional, and legislative
candidates, and August 2 - 25 for county candidates. Ballot
Access and Candidate Qualifications The recognized political parties
were also able to nominate candidates by convention to fill ballot vacancies through
August 13 for federal and state offices, and through August 25 for county
offices.
Note
regarding candidate phone numbers
Upon filing nomination papers, all candidates
complete an affidavit of candidacy form. This includes a space for the
candidate's phone number with the notation "Optional, will be
published." If no phone number is listed for a candidate on this
web site, the candidate left the phone number space blank on the affidavit of
candidacy.
Note
regarding candidate e-mail addresses
The affidavit of candidacy form also includes
a space for the candidate to list an e-mail address. To e-mail a
candidate, replace the AT in the address with the @ sign. (The @
has been replaced with AT on this web site to block address harvesting
software used by spammers.)
If no e-mail address is listed for a
candidate, the candidate left the e-mail address space blank on the affidavit
of candidacy.
Note
regarding candidate web sites
If no web site is listed, our office was
unable to locate a web site for that campaign, and it is possible the campaign
did not have a site.
NOTE: This page is no longer actively updated. For
historic purposes, candidate links are left as they existed on Election Day
2004 and may be dead links or link to different sites than they did in
November 2004.
