This was Johnson County's first election with same day voter registration.
Voters registering after 5 p.m. on Friday, March 21 needed to use the
election day
registration procedure. Other deadlines and dates:
- Friday, March 7: Noon filing deadline for candidates. File with
city clerk (NOT with our office). 10 signatures required.
Nomination petition and affidavit of candidacy (Secretary of State, .pdf)
- Monday, March 10: Deadline to withdraw candidacy, 5 p.m.
- Friday, March 28: 5 p.m. deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail.
In person early voting was available at the Auditor's Office until 6
p.m. Monday, March 31.

17 ballots requested by mail (16 returned), plus one voter at Auditor's
Office.
Note regarding candidate
phone numbers and emails
Upon filing nomination papers, all candidates complete an affidavit of
candidacy form. This includes a space for the candidate's phone number
with the notation "Optional, will be published." If no phone
number is listed for a candidate on this web site, the candidate left the
phone number space blank on the affidavit of candidacy.
The affidavit of candidacy form also includes a space for the candidate to
list an e-mail address. To e-mail a candidate, replace the italic
AT in the address with the @ sign. (The
@
has been replaced with AT on this web
site to block address harvesting software used by spammers.)
If no e-mail address is listed for a candidate, the candidate left the
e-mail address space blank on the affidavit of candidacy.
