The Auditor, Sheriff and three Supervisors
(Harney, Neuzil, Sullivan) were elected to four year terms in 2008 and will not
be on the 2010 ballot.
About this list
The above list includes only those persons who have filed affidavits of
candidacy with the Johnson County Auditor and who will appear on the June 8 primary ballot. Other persons may consider themselves candidates and may in
the future file affidavits of candidacy for the November 2 general election ballot, but only the two official political parties will participate in the June
8
primary.
The filing period for the November 2 general election for county candidates not representing the two official parties is
August 2 - 25. Ballot
Access and Candidate Qualifications Before August 2, the Johnson County Auditor's Office will
accept a notice of intent to declare candidacy
from candidates for county office only who do not
represent the two official parties.
The political parties may also
nominate candidates by convention to fill
ballot vacancies through August 25 (August 13 for federal and state offices).
Note regarding candidate
phone numbers
Upon filing nomination papers, all candidates complete an affidavit of
candidacy form. This includes a space for the candidate's phone number
with the notation "Optional, will be published." If no phone
number is listed for a candidate on this web site, the candidate left the
phone number space blank on the affidavit of candidacy.
Note regarding candidate
e-mail addresses and web sites
The affidavit of candidacy form also includes a space for the candidate to
list an e-mail address. To e-mail a candidate, replace the italic AT
in the address with the @ sign.
If no e-mail address is listed for a candidate, the candidate left the
e-mail address space blank on the affidavit of candidacy.
Links are provided to web sites for candidates who have already filed.
If a candidate who has filed has a site that we have not listed, please inform
our office so we may add it. Disclaimer
Township Offices
Township offices were changed from partisan to non-partisan in 2006 and
are no longer on the primary ballot. Candidates for township clerk and
trustee may file with the Auditor's Office from August 2-25.
