Dear Mr. Slockett,

I am writing this letter to encourage the appointment of Tom Carsner to the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.

I know Tom as a Board member for Environmental Advocates (EA) and as a neighbor. Tom, as you know, has been actively involved in the County Comprehensive Land Use Plan, representing BA. His participation in the process not only has been a great representation of EA's mission and grass-roots activism, but also what I believe the majority of voters in Johnson County would want the plan to reflect. As this year's board Chair of BA, it's been gratifying to me to see that Tom and others truly care enough about county level government to spend as much time and effort on this issue. While the supervisors only are `three-quarter time', the good supervisors have made it their business to put in much more effort than that. I know Tom too, would be a good supervisor in this capacity.

Clearly Tom is an excellent person to till Joe's vacant seat and given the voter support for Tom in the last primary, it is apparent that voters too would approve of his appointment.
