Subject: That County Job

Okay-here is my two cents worth regarding the county supervisor candidates you are mulling over: Take a long hard look at Tom Carsner, another "pal" from NDAC.

I worked a bit for him on his original campaign in the Democratic primary and found him to be organized, ingenuous, dedicated and all in all very fit for public office. (I coincidentally took two yoga classes with his wife Susan, a social worker for the county, and she is a very warm, intelligent, caring human being who is diligent about her career as well as exercise-exactly what you would want in a social worker!)

Having talked many times with Mr. Carsner of local politics, philosophy, social changes in Iowa City etc., I find him well-informed, thoughtful and a good listener. A life-long resident of Iowa City, Mr. Carsner seems to sincerely care about the future of the people in the area; not unimportantly he is a steadfast worker for the Democratic party and eager for the opportunity to participate in leading Johnson County into the 21st. century.
