I'm writing to encourage the committee that is selecting a new supervisor to strongly consider the appointment of Tom Carsner, whose enthusiasm and years of direct involvement in the key issues facing the county and the Board will make him a very effective Supervisor.

Tom thoroughly understands the complexity of the land use issues that confront the county as it updates-and hopefully strengthens-its comprehensive land use strategies. His people skills make him an effective communicator who will serve the county well. This, too, is a critical need, as the Board has not always been perceived as open to public input.

I strongly urge the committee to name Tom Carsner to fill this important vacancy.
