I am writing to recommend Tom Carsner's appointment to the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.

I have known Tom since 1971, and have followed his growth and development with interest. Tom is mature, responsible and well-balanced. He has served his county and community through involvement in a variety of volunteer capacities. He understands government, its workings, and the impact of governmental policies on people and businesses.

Tom does his homework and he is an active listener. These are key assets for dealing fairly with the complex and often conflicting issues the supervisors face on a regular basis. He brings the fresh face of the next generation to the table, and that is an asset in this vibrant, forward-looking county.

Tom represents what is good in seeking public office: a true desire to serve the best interests of local citizens in a measured, deliberate manner.
