May 22, 2001 West Liberty School Election Voters in the West Liberty School District defeated two school bond questions on May 22, 2001.
A 60% majority was required for passage of these issues. Both issues won more than 50% but less than 60% approval. A third question, a tax levy not to exceed $1.34 per $1,000 of assessed value, was approved. This issue only required 50% to pass. Johnson County voters in parts of Lincoln and Scott townships were able to vote in this election. Map Polling place hours were noon to 8 p.m. at West Liberty City Hall. The voter registration deadline was 5 p.m. Friday, May 11. West Liberty School District elections are conducted by the Muscatine County Auditor's Office.
