College Community School Bond Election
On January 24, 2006, voters in the College Community School District voters
approved two public measures:
Public Measure A
Shall the Board of Directors of the College Community
School District, in the Counties of Benton, Linn, and Johnson, State of Iowa,
be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in
an amount not to exceed $31,000,000 to provide funds to build and construct a
Middle School building, remodel, repair and improve schoolhouses, and to
purchase and improve land?
Public Measure B
Shall the Board of Directors of the College Community
School District, in the Counties of Benton, Linn, and Johnson, State of Iowa,
be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in
an amount not to exceed $7,500,000 to provide funds to build and furnish a
Performing Arts Auditorium at the High School site, including necessary site
improvements, it being understood that it is contingent upon the
approval of Public Measure A submitted to the electors of the School
District on this date?
A 60% yes vote was required for
passage of each measure.
Johnson County voters in parts of Monroe, Jefferson, and Big Grove townships,
including the cities of Shueyville and Swisher, were able to vote in this
election. Map Polls were open from 7
a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters in the Johnson County portion of the school district
voted at Swisher City Hall.
