6 CAUCUS - Republican county convention, 9 a.m., Northwest Junior High, Coralville.

8 PRIMARY - First day for partisan candidates for county and township offices to file nomination petitions and affidavits of candidacy in the county auditor's office, 69 - 92 days before the election. Democrats and Republicans require a minimum of 100 signatures (or 2% or party vote in last election, whichever is less [(43.20(1)"d"]).  Township candidates require an affidavit of candidacy. In Johnson County, independent candidates or candidates representing non-party political organizations may file a declaration of intent to file candidacy.

9 NL/SH CABLE FRANCHISE - Deadline for cities to notify Auditor of May 11 special election, 32 days before election date.

22 PRIMARY - 5 p.m. deadline to submit a petition requesting a satellite absentee voting station, a minimum of 100 signatures required, 47 days before the election. [53.11(1)]

24 CAUCUS - Republican congressional district caucus, West High.  Democratic congressional district convention, Danville.

7 PRIMARY - Last day to request an absentee ballot or vote early.  Satellite voting must end by 5:00 p.m.  Early voting continues at the Auditor's Office until normal close of business, 6:00 p.m.  Absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by this date.

June 8:  PRIMARY ELECTION DAY.
