Changes from 1991 Precincts
- Precinct 1 (Central Elementary School) remains substantially the same
but loses some territory west of 10th Avenue.
- Old Precinct 2 (Grant Wood AEA), which included nearly all of Coralville
north of Interstate 80, was divided into two precincts. Wickham
Elementary School will be the polling place for new Precinct 6.
- Old Precinct 4 (Recreation Center) was divided into two precincts.
Northwest Junior High will be the polling place for new Precinct 5.
Parts of old Precinct 1 were added to Precincts 4 and 5.
- The Boston Way area, in old Precinct 3 (Western Hills) was moved to new
Precinct 5.
Approval Process
On July 11, 2001, the city of Coralville presented a plan to the Auditor's
Office for review. A public hearing was held August 7th at Coralville City
Hall. On August 17, Coralville contacted the Auditor's office regarding
one revision. The council approved the revised plan on second and third
consideration on August 28, 2001 (vote 4-0, one absent). This plan added
two new precincts, for a total of six.
