Johnson County Fair Mock Election, 2007 The Auditor’s Office conducted its annual mock election in the Johnson County Auditor’s Office booth in Exhibition Hall B at the Johnson County Fair July 23-26, 2007. The Auditor’s Office conducts a mock election at the fair every year in order to demonstrate Johnson County’s voting equipment and educate the public on its use. This year voters chose candidates in next January's presidential caucuses. Final Results as of 8:00 Thursday, July 26 787 total voters
Results from past mock elections All persons attending the fair, including children and guests from outside Johnson County were able to vote in the mock election. This included the opportunity to cast a ballot using either a paper ballot or Johnson County’s new touchscreen voting equipment with a paper trail. Participants were asked to vote only once and will need to choose either a Democratic or Republican ballot. The list of candidates was obtained from the Washington Post on July 17, 2007 at http://projects.washingtonpost.com/2008-presidential-candidates/. Jim Gilmore was removed from the Republican ballot due to an Associated Press article published in the Washington Post on July 15, 2007 announcing Gilmore as the first major candidate to drop out of the presidential race. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
