Johnson County Election Precincts
New Locations beginning June 6,
2006 Primary
Voters in five Johnson County precincts went to new polling places for the
2006 primary election. Most of these moves were required under
accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the
Help America Vote Act (HAVA). In addition to these five moves, one additional
move was planned. St. Mary's Church, the polling place for Newport
Township, had inadequate parking under ADA and HAVA and a move to Dick Schwab's
barn was announced. However, an accessible parking area was completed at
the church the week before the election, and the polling place for Newport was
moved back to St. Mary's Church.
