New Johnson County Precincts
In August and September 2011, the city councils of Iowa City, Coralville and North Liberty and the Johnson County Board of Supervisors approved voting precincts for the next ten years. Summary of 2011 Johnson County precinct changes
New precincts will take effect for all elections held after January 15, 2012. List of new precincts and polling places The first scheduled election with new precincts is the June 5, 2012 primary. The January 3, 2012 presidential caucuses were conducted by the political parties, not by our office. Because of the early date, both Republicans and Democrats used the precincts established in 2001 ("old" precincts) for the caucuses. Additional information about new precincts, including printer friendly individual precinct maps, will be posted in the future. All Johnson County voters will be mailed new voter cards listing their new districts and precincts in late February 2012.
