By Kristen Goldsmith, JCCB Naturalist

Hi I'm Kristen Goldsmith the Johnson County Conservation Board (JCCB) Naturalist. Many of you may have met me conduction a JCCB program or when you have visited Kent Park with a school group. I have been with the board since March of 2000 so I may still be considered the "new kid," but I am quickly getting to know the people of the community and already love living in Iowa City.

I was born and raised on a farm near the small southwest Iowa town of Corning and will always have fond memories of playing in the woods and fishing in the pond near our home. I graduated from Iowa State University with a double major in Biological Illustration and Environmental Studies and, in my spare time, I try and find time to do some free-lancing. When I'm not at the park you might find me camping or canoeing with my friends and my dog Indiana or hanging out with my family.
