Conservation Connection Logo Free Fishing Days June 1-3

You don’t have to be a seasoned angler or spend a lot of money for the entire family to have fun fishing together. Free Fishing Weekend in Iowa June 1-3, is a golden opportunity for anyone to try and catch a fish.

Across the state, residents are not required to have a fishing license during Free Fishing Weekend, although all other laws and regulations are still in effect.

The JCCB will celebrate Free Fishing Weekend with a fishing clinic for the entire family on June 2, from 1-4 p.m., at Kent Park Lake boat ramp. Programs on fishing equipment and fish identifications will be held followed by a fishing derby.

Bait, tackle and a limited number of rods and reels will be available.
